(They recommend including "Airmail" and "Par Avion on envelopes). I love getting cards, letters, etc, just anything to know people are supporting me and thinking of me while I am away. That honestly will probably be the best way you can encourage me. For those wishing to send care packages please send it through the U.S. Postal Service. (Pick up fees from other carriers such as UPS or FedEx get expensive here). If you aren't trying to send too much, padded envelopes are cheaper and I don't have to pay a pick up fee. I believe if you send a package you will have to fill out a custom form however don't claim anything as more than $20 or else it increases the risk of theft. I've seen people say that putting stickers on the package helps to prevent tampering and makes it easier to identify. (Again, once I get to Madagascar if I find out any more tips or tricks I'll put them here so keep checking back every now and then).
